MAC Cosmetics Workshop // pre-makeup time

a few months ago, I was happily invited to attend a MAC Cosmetics Workshop, with one of their senior make-up artists. the session in itself was very interesting as we got to go through the history of beauty along times, the misconceptions that exist nowadays and what's more suitable for each time of face.in the end we received three products to apply prior to make-up and it's about them I am going to talk today.

the mac prep+prime skin base visage I already knew and was a user. I always apply it before using extreme make-up, like for nights outs and other special events. it prepares the skin for all the cosmetics and helps it look more smooth. the mac studio moisture cream is the one I use before also when i have special events when I need my make-up to stay put for long hours. but the most important of the all is the mac fix+ brume fixante, I'm totally addicted to it, even during the day. I noticed through out this months that every time I use it my skin doesn't shine like it used to and I don't need to retouch as often; also especially having an oily skin that literally eats my make-up after 2 hours, this product was a nice discover because it fixes my Kohl and my eye shadow as well so it doesn't smudges. Could a product be more perfect? well to be honest...No!

The boho Fille Diaries & Very.co.uk + Oasis-Stores.com

hey lovely readers. Remember I teamed up with two of the best online stores in the UK (Oasis, Very) to bring you the latest in tips and advices on how to pull one of the hottest trends???! Well here it's the second post, this time on : Royal Ascot Races but you can also pull ideas for sport fancy events.

Race into style

Royal Ascot is not just any day at the races, and to highlight this fact, organisers of the annual event have revamped their style guidelines. Out are spaghetti straps, minis and midriffs – thankfully! – and in are a set of timeless and tasteful style standards, perfectly in sync with summer 2012 trends. Whether you’re inside the Royal Enclosure or in your living room, stick to these new guidelines for a look that’s chic and on trend. And if your wardrobe needs an Ascot update, look no further than Very.co.uk. Their wide range of stylish labels – with gorgeous pieces from brands like Forever Unique is sure to keep you in sartorial step.

Keep with the code

First and foremost, ditch the mini. According to the revised rules, dresses and skirts must be of modest length – to the fingertips or below – perfect for the seasonal focus on all things ladylike. Peplums, lace and pastels are very much in, and something like this creamy South shift will have everyone else green with envy. We recommend accessorising with a light faux glow.
Next, you’ll want to keep the shoulders covered. Straps should be no less than one inch thick, which is a good thing, as wider straps are more universally flattering. Try something like this modern take on the classic LBD, which accentuates all the positives in a fun, first class way.

You could also go with a great trouser suit. But to keep this look cutting edge, stick with either monotone or a one shade palette. Think different shades of pink or mint – this season’s hottest hue. Or try on a pattern for size – printed trousers are going to be all the rage this summer.

Finally, you’ll need the perfect accessory to top off your race day outfit. And, of course, we’re talking about Royal Ascot’s calling card – the hat. From boaters to bonnets, the right hat is absolutely essential. If you’re lucky enough to be rubbing elbows within the Royal Enclosure, fascinators are no longer permitted, so go with full coverage, like this gorgeous blue number from Jacques Vert. If not, you’re free to have a little more fun up top. And there’s a reason they’re called ‘fascinators.’ Spare no expense and really make a statement with your chapeau.
